![]() Permadeath means if any character dies then that person is gone for good, so if you've spent hours building up a character you have to think about what you're doing. Permadeath and fixed locations for vehicles are features, while sounding trivial, that really enhance the gaming experience. You don't get much breathing space so building up your whole group, not just one or two characters, is essential for long-term success. The game is mission based in an open map, so you can run the story and side quests the way you like. There is plenty of fighting, but there's a more realistic limit to how many enemies you can fight as you characters tire after so long. There are many zombie games but this is the first I've played that has such good emphasis on survival via scavenging, build bases and your group, instead of all-out combat.
